1. Explore Lima On Bike: Private Coast Cycling Experience

bike tours lima: private coast cycling experience

5 out of 5 ⭐

Many of the tours on this list bike through the unique neighborhoods of Miraflores and the Barranco. Part of what makes this tour unique is that it includes time in Chorrilla, a bohemian seaside neighborhood.

Another unique feature of this tour is that it includes biking up El Morro hill.

One of the few hills in Lima, the summit of El Morro Hill gives excellent views of the entire city and the Pacific Ocean.

The tour is private, which means you get expert, local advice on the best things to see and places to eat in the city.

The minimum age for this tour is 12, which also makes it a great tour for an entire family.

  • Duration: 4 hours and 15 minutes.
  • Included: Bike, Helmet, reflective vest, guide, Coffee or Tea
  • Language: English, Spanish
  • Minimum Age: 12

I found this to be one of the best biking tours I’ve done via viator. There were a variety of different biking environments. Beginning with coastal and ending with inter city Lima.

2. The Best Bike Tour of Lima: La Costa Verde & Chorillos

bike tours lima: las costa verde

5 out of 5 ⭐

This tour combines the benefits of our #1 recommendation, but at a less expensive cost than a private tour. However, all riders need to be at least 16 years of age.

The tour also gets riders off their bikes and includes a hike up to the summit of El Morro hill. At the top, you will see panoramic views of both the city and the coast.

The tour, operated by Gogo Bike Tours, is best for active travelers. You will need to carry the bike up a few stairs, so moderate physical activity level is necessary.

Gogo Biking also offers Lima bike rentals if you prefer to explore the city on your own.

  • Time: 3 hours
  • Included: Bike, Helmet, Coffee/Tea, Guide
  • Languages: English, Spanish
  • Minimum Age: 16

3. The Bohemian Charm of Barranco Bike Tour

5 out of 5 ⭐

This title of the tour is a bit deceiving. While it suggests you will just be in the Barranco, you will actually cover a fair amount of ground in this tour.

During this tour you will absolutely slow down and explore the neighborhood of the Barranco. Yet the tour is not limited to the Barranco.

You will also see the major sites of Lima, including a pre-Incan archeological site, the Bridge of Sighs, and El Parque del Amor.

Back in Barranco, you will immerse yourself in the unique neighborhood, with its street art and local flair.

The tour is also run by GoGo Biking Lima and has morning and afternoon departures.

The tour includes a stop for some coffee, ice cream, or even a beer. Again, you customize what you want to enjoy.

The tour has slightly larger groups of 10.

The larger number could be a downside, unless you are looking for a tour for a larger family.

Diego, Dec 2019

I was born and raised in Lima, but never had the chance to visit the city and the coast by bike like we did. Junior was our guide and from the beginning he made us feel secure and wanting to rediscover the city. We made stops at key points to learn a little more about the history of Lima and take some pictures! Before starting our way back from Chorrillos, he took us to eat a ceviche that was excellent!!! (included in the price) and rest a little bit.

11. Half Day–Gastronomy Tour By Bike At Barranco

5 out of 5 ⭐

This unique tour combines biking and food. The tour makes 3 food stops.

Rolando, Jan 2022

Riding a bike was never as exciting as we did to this Wildlife Refuge, we drove through the city of Lima, passing through very interesting districts until we reached Villa’s swamps, but we didn’t just drive, within the facilities we could have a canoe ride and by boat, rowing in an area where you can appreciate the life of many birds, it was great. A highly recommended experience!
